The Mechanar Is Broken

We made our second journey into The Mechanar last night. Initially, it went much more smoothly than last time. We took out all the mobs in the entry way, and had a much easier time with the mini-bosses. We devised a series of attack plans to deal with new situations. For example, sapping a spellcaster and pulling another into a frost trap while Scotty tanks the remaining mob is attack plan Catherine Zeta-Jones. We also have attack plan Jane Seymour and the Loni Anderson maneuver. We took out Mechano-Lord Capacitus without a single death. We even got some good loot this time.

Brian picked up a new weapon, the Plasma Rat’s Hyper-Scythe. It wasn’t stupendous, but it was certainly better than any drop we’ve had so far. Devin also picked up a better belt, but that’s not saying too much because his old one was essentially a piece of rope and an I love Elvis belt buckle.

At this point in the evening, we were left with the two big bosses, Nethermancer Sepethrea and Pathaleon the Calculator.

We gave up on Sepethrea after dying about five or six times, and decided to try Pathaleon. We essentially bought our way through the mobs on the glass walkway, and were left with Pathaleon, the big boss of the instance. This ended just like the old gypsy woman predicted.

We finally gave up, and the AFK warriors took out their frustrations on some poor Undead Warlock.

The foot will return to the Mechanar eventually, but next week we will be trying something else.

Well that really sums it up. Although I must say we are definitly improving. It didn’t take us nearly as long to get to the guys that kick our collective asses. We will get them, and I must add that I think it wasn’t until the 4th or 5th time here that Necco was able to have a successful clear of the place. On the upside, I did laugh my ass off for a good portion of the evening. You guys are a great team to go into a battle with (win or lose).

There were a couple of times last night I was laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe. When Devin fell off of the stairs down into the fight with Mechano-Lord Capacitus, I was in tears.

I have been reading a little more about the place and it appears that we aren’t the only team having trouble with these bosses.

About The Left Foot of Darkness

Started as a way to keep other players from asking us to join their guild, the Left Foot of Darkness slowly developed into a tightly knit group of ex-United States Army Special Forces who work as soldiers of fortune while being on the run from the military for a crime they didn't commit. Oh wait... that's the A-Team. Um, okay, the Left Foot of Darkness is a group of guys that have known each other for so many years that they are unable to get up off of their middle-aged butts and actually hang out, so they get together online and play World of Warcraft, uh.. and solve crimes from the Mystery Machine.
